It's been a while since I posted a photograph, so here's a new one of my favorite and most willing subject. Also, check out my new watermark at the bottom right -- I think it's much more professional.

This is a poster I made for myself as a means of getting myself out there. If there are any Columbus-ites out there with ideas on where I could hang these, please let me know!

bride ideas website

The Bride Ideas website is finally up and running! At this point, I'm still working out a few kinks here and there, but for the most part, it's finished. You may visit Bride Ideas here.

I also enjoy taking photographs of natural objects -- like this tree in Jamaica. I thought the way the sun was shining through the flowery tree like a star was really pretty. I also like the little rainbow sunstreak at the bottom left.

I like taking pictures of animals, particularly my own black lab, Bailey. He is very photogenic and makes it easy for me to take photos of him. He seems to like the attention. :)

dance, dance, dance

For this project, I designed the front (left) and back of a business card for a local dancer/dance teacher. The figure was drawn in Illustrator and was a digital rendering of Julia's signature icon.

pawprints magazine

As part of a semester-long project (remember PAWS?), I created several different covers for an imaginary magazine entitled pawprints for the organization. Above is one of my favorites. Great action shot!

As part of the previously mentioned Alex's Bistro project, I designed the above lunch menu. I also created a matching dinner menu.

DVD cover

This DVD cover design was part of the previously mentioned semester-long branding project. The assignment was to create a DVD cover for a pretend film for our selected non-profit organization. Mine was entitled Best Friends and was a documentary following several people whose lives changed after adopting a dog. The cover copy is all original.

PAWS logo

For this graduate class project, I spent the semester working on building a brand: for my project, I chose a local dog adoption agency for which to re-design their logo and create other various products as assigned. I will post these other projects shortly.

the visual concept book

This project was for my Making Ideas Visible graduate-level class. I spent the semester creating this book, titled Emotion Meets Music, which visually explored the concept of music and its effect on emotion. Below are thumbnails of the finished version, arranged in three sets. You may click on any of the sets to enlarge the images.

bride ideas logo

The Bride Ideas project has been a great one so far. I have been able to be a part of a brand-new wedding consulting business, creating the logo and stationery for Bride Ideas (as well as coming up with the name). I hand-drew all the above graphics in Illustrator. A Web site is in the works.

alex's bistro logo

As part of a freelance project, I redesigned the logo for Alex's Bistro, located in Upper Arlington. The project included the above logo, as well as business cards, letterhead and a menu. A Web site is in the works.

typeface design

For a graduate-level typography class, I created this character set. The guidelines were merely that it be completely original and that at least three of the letters be based on real English characters.

interactive travel cd

I created this imaginary home page for an interactive travel CD in Photoshop for an advertising class. Each of the four main photos was from my personal photography collection.

poster trio

This is a collection of type classification posters, created for a typography class. My concept was blending big letters, lots of contrast and bright, eye-catching colors. The copy is all original as well.

movie site

As part of an assignment for my advertising class, I created this movie home page for a Janet Evanovich novel.

wedding invite

This is an acutal wedding invitation I designed; I also created matching reception and reply cards. The names have been changed, however.

dog walk ad

This Illustrator-drawn image is another assignment: an advertisement for an actual dog-walking company in San Francisco. My instructor loved the image and said that the logo I created for the company was better than the company's actual logo!

deco diner advertisement

This was an assignment for a graduate-level class, in which we students were instructed to use Illustrator to create an advertisement for an imaginary deco diner in Miami.

book jacket

This book jacket was created using three Adobe programs: Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. The title is hand-lettered, and the copy is all original.
